The crooked contractors standard is “One nail, no jail.”

That means that if the contractor signs an agreement, takes your money, does a minimal amount of work and then leaves you in a lurch, they are unlikely to be arrested for fraud. In fact, the authorities will literally push victims into civil court as they could find their limited resources swamped if they prosecuted every contractor fraud case as a criminal act.

This is why it’s important you carefully vet and sign a contract that makes them accept their payments in stages of work completion. If you give the contractor 50% or more, then he can choose to complete your project, or simply leave your job uncompleted and essentially dare you to sue them. They have the reins in their hands once they receive their payment.

Many paid this contractor and he started the job, unfortunately he was not honest and even though he had a contract with them, it has been “one nail, no jail” and there’s not much that people can do about it. This site is an attempt to fight back, by preventing one such 'contractor' Josh Mobley from working again. Josh Mobley may or may not be a licensed general contractor in the state of Indiana. Only plumbers are licensed in Indiana at the state level.. And, while he claims to be licensed and bonded, he is unable to provide proof when asked. Additionally, general contractors are required to include their license number on all quotes, invoices, and receipts. Josh Mobley does not do this.

He has a history of taking money from clients, not purchasing the claimed materials, not completing work, and disappearing. To date, this website is aware of over $200,000 in money from clients who now consider it stolen.

In August 2022, based on a referral, a single mother with 2 children living in a 92-year-old 3-bedroom house hired Josh Mobley to oversee extensive renovations to their pole barn; substantial improvements such as turning the barn into a barndominium. Then they decided to sell their home to pay for the work.

Josh installed the plumbing, windows, electrical, insulation and dry wall incorrectly, disappeared with the money meant to purchase the kitchen , bathroom, patio and other supplies. The lady still does not have a house to live, as the building was left incomplete, and Josh has disappeared and refuse to cooperate after the lady hired a private inspector.

This website also knows of another couple who paid Josh Mobley for a new addition and then disappeared on them too after the construction started to fall apart.

In both instances, Josh "completed" a couple of tasks to gain the trust of the client, then asks for a large sum of money to complete the bigger project, and then disappears when the sloppy work comes noticed.

When he does complete projects, he is believed to not follow the Indiana construction code and utilize unskilled labor, exploiting them by not paying a fair wage to line his pockets and profit more. While leaving work unfinished and dodging client phone calls, Josh Mobley has documented his extravagant exploits on social media, and around the small town where he resides.

The rumor around town is that Josh Mobley has recently gone through some marriage issues. While this website understands the stress this causes; we do not believe this gives Josh Mobley the right to rip off his clients. And this website hopes no one will do this to Josh Mobley's family some day.

On Facebook, Josh identifies himself as the owner of Dreams to Reality Construction LLC. Dreams to Reality Construction LLC is supposedly located at 221 Beech Grove avenue in Batesville, IN; and has his son Joshua Mobley as the active agent.
