After repeated unanswered correspondence to the business from our office, BBB has decided to close this complaint and note that the business did not respond to the complaint. This complaint will be reflected on the company's BBB Business Profile with the following language:  "The business failed to respond to the dispute.".

The crooked  contractors  standard is  “One nail, no jail.” That means that if the contractor signs an agreement, takes your money, does a minimal amount of work and then leaves you in a lurch, they are unlikely to be arrested for fraud. In fact, the authorities will literally push victims into civil court as they could find their limited resources swamped if they prosecuted every contractor fraud case as a criminal act. This is why it’s important you carefully vet and sign a contract that makes them accept their payments in stages of work completion. If you give the contractor 50% or more, then he can choose to complete your project, or simply leave your job uncompleted and essentially dare you to sue them. They have the reins in their hands once they receive their payment.
